LABRADOR TEA

Herbal Treasure You Might Not Know About

Labrador Tea is a hardy evergreen shrub from the genus Rhododendron, thriving in the northern regions of North America, Europe, and Asia. Known for its aromatic leaves, this plant has been used for centuries by Indigenous peoples for its medicinal properties and as a flavorful tea substitute. Growing primarily in bogs and wetlands, Labrador Tea features narrow, leathery leaves and clusters of white to pale pink flowers. While it’s appreciated for both its practical and ornamental value, it’s important to consume the tea in moderation due to its potential toxicity. This resilient plant remains a significant part of northern cultural heritage and natural landscapes.
